Generator Specification and Scope of Supply

One 16RK270 Diesel Engine

The engine supplied would be modified from standard to accommodate for MFO and Biodiesel operation if required including

• Water Cooled Exhaust Valve Seats ( IMPS Design Cylinder Heads)
• Fitting of Exhaust Valve Rotators ( IMPS Design)
• Water Cooled Injector Nozzles
• Two Piece Piston Assemblies with Steel Crown and Forged Aluminium Skirt

Additional modifications undertaken by us would be

• IMPS Modified Connecting Rod
• IMPS Modified Bearings
• IMPS Modified Lubricating Oil Pumps
• Single Turbocharger arrangement instead of double

Vibration Monitoring System

A Vibration Monitoring System will be fitted to the generator and configured to the protection panel for emergency shutdown in the event of out of parameter vibration

Bearing Temperature Monitoring System

A Main and Large End Bearing Monitoring System will be fitted to detect early signs of any bearing failure. This will be configured to the panel for emergency shutdown in the event of excessive temperatures being recorded.

Mechanical Protection & Associated Systems

Overspeed governor operates the pneumatic trip valve, which releases the fuel-purge system.
Lubricating oil pressure low, or loss of control air pressure.
( Pressure trip operates pneumatic trip valve. Racks move to “ zero fuel� position.)
Alternator is protected by a microswitch operated by the fuel pump control shafts.
